Soar

pink everything and it's the little things are teaming up for a give away!

To sum it up-They want you to choose a meaningful word that would be your word for the next year. The winner will receive one of Lisa Leonard's beautiful necklaces with their word.

My word would be -soar.
I have been thinking a lot this year on the Scripture from Isaiah 40:28-31

"Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary,
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
(and i have)
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
they will SOAR on wings like eagles;
They will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not grow faint."

I have spent much of this year being weary, but I am learning to "hope in the Lord." I have spent much of this year stumbling and falling. I want so much more. I know that God has promised me that I will "soar on wings like eagles."
I am waiting for lift off!

What would your word be?

  3. Who wants to share their word after your beautiful and inspiring post? :) It was a beautiful post and I too want to see you "Soar" this year!!
    My word would be "Hope". I collect things that say "Hope". Our burial plot is named "Hope". It's been my word for the last seven years because of Matthew.

  5. Thanks for the inspirational post. This is something I'll definitely be thinking on today. It's tempting to just pick the first word that pops into my head, but I want it to be meaningful.

    'Soar' is meaningful. And I LOVE that verse. It's so hard to remember that we can soar. That we don't always have to be weary. Weary is an easy place to get stuck, though. Thanks for the reminder. Love your posts!

  6. I love that verse! It makes me think of a hymn that I like - On Eagles' Wings. "He will raise you up on eagles' wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of His hand." I will be praying for you to soar this year.

    Since reading your post last night I have been thinking and praying for my word. My word is going to be embrace. I want to embrace my relationship with God, I want to embrace my life at the stage it is at, I want to embrace the decisions I make, I want to embrace my children for who they are and who they will become, I want to embrace my relationships with my husband, children, friends and family. I want to treasure this time and this stage and store up these memories in my heart and mind.

  8. I agree - if I had gazillons of dollars I would buy everyone a necklace too. I think this might have to go on a wish list!

  9. I love that! I can tell just from reading your posts regularly that yes, that would be so perfect for you to wear around your neck, close to your heart, every day. Don't you want one? I had already gone over there before I read your post. I said my word would be "rest." But I think soaring and resting are similar in a way... it's an act of letting go, you know, when you stop flapping your wings, you stop working and struggling so hard... you rest, and enjoy the ride. I can't wait, either!
