Longing

"Even in childhood was implanted within me a trace of that mysterious unity from which I was derived"
St. Augustine

Last week marked the 20th anniversary of when I gave my life to Jesus. It seems though that I have always known Him. In the depths of me there was always a knowing, longing, missing, wanting of Him. At one time I would have thought that after 20 yrs of living this Christ-life that longing would lessen. Now I know the longing becomes greater. I want more of that "mysterious unity."

  1. It's the fascination that keeps us coming back...
    blessed mystery.
    Happy 20th, Denise.

And regarding your comment - I'll be praying about that with you, Denise - I know how that is. Sometimes there is only so much one can do. And sometimes the stiff one is ME, and it's all I can do to bend without breaking.

Excercise! This soul needs more of it!! :)

  2. I love your thoughts here. Also, that picture is beautiful. I was privileged to see it first hand at the Sistine Chapel in Rome a year and a half ago - one of the most amazing and breathtaking pieces of art I've ever witnessed.
