this past weekend Michael and i skipped away to Carmel and Monterey, just the two of us. (we are skipping in these pix) i didn't realize how much i missed him till we were away. i miss him being all mine. all of his humor, chuckles, words, silence, smiles, embraces, glances, dreams, french fries... they were all mine. i needed that. sometimes it is good not to share.i share him with the kids, work, more work, church, yard, people, projects... sometimes i want him all to myself.
We've been trying to do a date night once a month. We did well from November to February, but we failed in March, unless you count 2 six hour classes we attended together! :) We'll have to try again in April!
I love the sculpture of the elderly couple!! So sweet! :)

Everybody has to change or they expire. Everybody has to leave, leave their home and come back so they can love it again for all new reasons. I want to keep my soul fertile for the changes, so things keep getting born in me, so things keep dying when it is time for things to die. I want to keep walking away from the person I was a moment ago. Only a good story has a character different at the end than it was in the beginning. Through Painted Deserts Donald Miller "Our whole life was only given to us to advance us by great strides toward our heavenly country." Lancelot Andrews In my life, God is always changing the way I think of Him. I am not saying GodHimself is changing, or thatmy theology is open and I blur the lines on truth;I am only saying I think I know who He is, then I figure outI don't know very much at all. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you. Mere Christianity C.S. Lewis
You two are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteDenise, your love for your hubs is so beautiful...I'm happy you got a chance to "not share" him this weekend :)

I know exactly how you feel and when I feel that way, I can't help thinking that's how Jesus feels about us.
