i don't knit.
my friends knit.
all of them.
i miss my friends.
but i have some nice scarves.
i prefer wrapping myself up in good conversation and their company,
but they wrap me up in their scarves.
i hoped knitting would be just a phase.
how many scarves does one person need?
i see lots of elderly ladies knitting.
i think i better embrace their knitting and their scarves.
but i won't knit.
i refuse.
but i will do a little embroidery, a little ironing, and sewing, and make these...
i have to confess i was inspired by (and stole the stacking bowls idea from) my sister-in-law lindsey. to purchase some adorable tea towels visit her on-line store The Pleated Poppy.
i am currently taking sewing lessons and making some fun pencil skirts for the girls.
they are pretty easy for this beginning sewer.
what do you like to create?

So cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm a complete beginner. I'd love to know how to sew (especially learn how to quilt) and knit. I've sorta, kinda taught myself crochet, but I'm not very good YET. I will master that skill. I will.
The plan is to get a sewing machine soon, then maybe I can attempt to create my masterpieces :)
(your pencil shirts sound adorable- I hope you show them to us when they are done!)
Umm... I meant to say "pencil sKirts"...ya, I'm tired
ReplyDeletewatch out! I am after you! Did you know that there are some very cool knitting projects in which embroidery is the perfect embellishment? One of these days, we'll be teaching each other and making beautiful projects together....
ReplyDeleteI don't knit or embroider or doing anything crafty as I (ironically) just posted about on my blog.
ReplyDeleteBut I do love appreciating those that do! Cute stuff!
I totally love the teapot towel. Way cuter than anything you could knit, right? Right.
ReplyDeleteMy mom gave me a gift of sewing lessons and a sewing machine at a local fabric shop when I got married. I learned a lot, but forgot quite a bit. I'm rusty but I can do simple things. Just please, no button holes, pleats, or zippers.
Or drapes. Everyone I know knows how to make drapes. WHAT? I can't even imagine.
But that tea towel? Now, I could do that...
and maybe I will someday...
I'm a "loom" knitter =/, but I would really love to learn how to actually knitt with needles =). I'm trying to teach myself embroidery....but lets just say that's not going very well. I love to sew stuff. I also like to take old tee-shirts or tee shirts that are too big for me, but have awesome designs and make backpacks and other stuff out of them.
