Back Packing

Last weekend Michael took Noah and Emilie on their first back-packing trip.

Why didn't i go? Bears, sleeping on the ground, no smores, no shower, no hair dryer, mosquitos, and potty outside...not for me!

They hiked 4 miles to Spotted Lake, ate beef jerky and some other usually inedible items in our household, fished, skied on their hiking boots (yep, there is still snow), widdled wood, slept outside, and made WONDERFUL memories together.
Apparently, this is the latest in back-packing fashion- wool socks worn with Tevas, long johns, and shorts!

  3. The Tevas and socks ARE such a fashion statement! But I say hooray for a daddy who loves on his babies by introducing them to great adventure and discovery! Way to go M!

  7. Lets see...
    a weekend with no amenities...
or a weekend alone at home - as in BY MYSELF?
Hmm... hard choice. I think you made the right one. :)

You've got some strong genes, girl. The kids look a lot like you - but that Noah is the spittin' image!!

  9. I used to love stuff like this when I was a kid. I'm with you now, though - if I can't take a shower daily, I'm not a happy camper! (no pun intended) =)
